Working with Joe at Bridgeside lodge for the last couple of years has been a journey for the both of us, a growing friendship developed in tandem with our musical collaboration. Being able to creatively share his inner world and connect with an audience online and in person has become an important motivating factor in his life. It’s been inspirational for me to watch him celebrating life’s wonders whilst also channelling and processing difficult emotions and life events into pieces of music.
Having met my brother and my wife at various Bridgeside Lodge garden parties, Joe has always asked after my family and generally how my life was panning out. I was therefore very excited yet a little apprehensive to share the news with him that I was expecting my first child and that I would be moving to Seville to try living amongst the orange trees with the little baby. I was excited knowing how much Joe loves children but sad knowing that this would temporarily bring an end to our fruitful collaboration.
After a few months and sharing of baby scans, we decided to write a song about the adventure of bringing a new life into this world. The song seemed to flow so naturally and was full of love and energy coming from, he would frequently burst out into laughter, smiles, offering supportive words….’”This is AMAZING my friend!”
The final recording of Joe’s vocals happened when I was already living in Seville but had come back to London for a Bridgeside lodge session, a wisdom tooth extraction and lots of final goodbyes….due to a technical problem with the microphone, I’ve filled missing lyrics with my own voice.
A new adventure, a new life, bringing a new child, bringing a new child.
Something amazing, I feel inside, bringing a new child, bringing a new child.
Bringing a new child into this world, how does it feel, this is amazing, amazing, my friend.
Bringing a new child into this world, how does it feel, this is amazing, amazing, my friend.
This is amazing, amazing, my friend.
It might be hard but, but I’m not scared, bringing a new child, bringing a new child
I feel so ready to breath new air, bringing a new child, bringing a new child
Bringing a new child into this world, how does it feel, this is amazing, amazing, my friend.
Bringing a new child into this world, how does it feel, this is amazing, amazing, my friend.
This is amazing, amazing, my friend.
